Playford College Newsletter – Issue 2 2019

Dear Parents,

I introduced the College student leadership team and shared with our College community on School Stream  (https://playfordcollege.myschoolstream.net/) about our plans for the future.

College Captains 2019

These plans, provided we receive strong support from the Federal Government, will enable Playford to grow into a Foundation to Year 12 College with Year 10 in 2020, Year 11 in 2021 and Year 12 in 2022. I presented the new Master Plan which has been initiated and approved by the Board and is included within this newsletter.

We have had a strong start to 2019 and our new staff have settled in well. Other teachers have changed year levels and the support for each other is recognized and celebrated. The staff team is involved in many conversations as to how we can continue to progress the academic, spiritual, social, physical and emotional life of each student.

The College has a number of camps and excursions planned for this term to supplement classroom programs and we expect all students to attend. These costs are included in your annual fees.

Thank you for continuing to support your children and Playford College.

Blessings

The Book with No Pictures

By B.J. Novak

Warning! This book looks serious but is actually completely ridiculous!

1J recommends this book because it makes people laugh. The book makes the reader make silly sounds and say silly things.

“I like it because it’s funny”- Emran

“I like the silly sounds”- Maeda

“It’s funny”- Zainab and Sami

“I like the big words”- Fatima A

Facilities improvement

A new girls’ toilet block has been added to the facility and will be opening up soon. This facility will provide girls to do their wudhu inside a closed facility instead of having to share the water taps outside.

The boys’ toilet will be extended once the girls’ toilet has been opened.
