14 June 2018
Salam alaikum.
1: From the Principal –
We are currently costing
the possibility of adding a fifth bus –
if this proceeds we hope to
have it running in third term –
it will mean the existing bus
routes will have to revised,
so that services operate at best efficiency.
It will allow for families on
the waiting list to access
the bus service to school,
and allow for some new families
to join Playford College.
We now have 220 people
subscribing to SchoolStream –
this means every time we need
to get a message out to the community,
220 of you receive the alert within
seconds of publishing.
It also means 220 people
receive the school newsletter.
Please tell friends and family to
download SchoolStream, and stay up to date.
2: School Closed Friday –
Eid Al Fitr could be Friday 15 June
or Saturday 16 June,
but I have made the call
to close the school on Friday 15 June,
as was published early in the year.
This makes it clear for everyone
in advance – no school Friday.
Children will be told in assembly
and an alert will be sent out in SchoolStream.
As it happens, it has turned out to be Saturday.
In anticipation of Eid Al Fitr,
we say Eid Mubarak to all of our families.
3: School Uniform –
Parents are reminded that
the winter uniform must
be worn during
Terms 2 and 3.
Some things to consider:
there are 3 uniforms –
do not mix and match items –
it is not acceptable
sports jacket only goes
with sports uniform –
do not wear with winter uniform
sport shoes only with sports uniform
the blazer IS a compulsory
part of the Playford College uniform

The uniform policy can be viewed and downloaded from the school website:

4: Can Drive for Anglicare Elizabeth Mission –
students from the
Social Justice Committee are organising
a can drive to collect food
that can be donated to homeless people.
Anglicare Mission is just one of many
charities that work hard to help
less fortunate people. Homeless people
are at record numbers in Australia.
Families have been doing a
wonderful job with donations,
and it will be interesting to see
which class has been able
to bring in the most cans.
This project will finish on
Friday 22 June (next week),
and we will then organise the
delivery of all cans to Anglicare.
On behalf of the Social Justice Committee,
Anglicare and Playford College,
we thank you for your support.
5: Drop Off and Pick Up –
School starts at 8.55am,
and students should be at school
ten minutes before that time,
to be ready when the bell goes.
The school day ends at 3.25pm
and supervision finishes at 3.45pm.
Parents should pick up their children
at the latest by 3.45pm.
If running late, please notify the front office.
6: Crazy Hair Day
Wednesday 20 June.
A presentation from the
Cancer Foundation to students
next week will help to
inform students and
remove some of the fear about cancer.
A notice was sent home this week
inviting students to come
to school on that day with
either a colourful scarf or crazy hair –
and a gold coin donation,
which will be forwarded to the Cancer Foundation.
7: Next Newsletter will be Friday 22 June.
Fi aman Allah (swt)
Regards and du’as
