Hajj Celebrations have successfully come to a beautiful end for the primary and secondary students at Playford College.
On Wednesday morning, the Year 7-10 students began their blessed journey to the Beloved for the day from 8:40am. With a small introduction about the day, the students eagerly gathered into their groups to start their activities and stations. They went straight into making their pure intention for their journey, and getting ready to wear the Ihram, a garment worn when performing Hajj. Once the Ihram was worn, our students began reciting the Talbiyah, which is a call to Allah SWT as they made their way to the Kaaba to circumambulate around it seven times. Purifying their intentions, the students then performed a special prayer, Sa’y, reflection and Ramy. Once all of the Hajj activities were complete, the students came to some beautifully prepared biryani to eat. After our Maghreb and Isha prayers, our students delved straight into making their projects about their representation of Hajj. The projects varied from models, posters to beautifully recited poems. All the projects were superb.
These celebrations were brilliantly reciprocated on Thursday with the Year 3-6 students.
