Dear parents and guardians
Playford College students and staff are looking forward to another week of strong and interesting learning. Of particular interest will be the Year 5 and 6 students visiting Parliament House on Wednesday as part of their Civics and Citizenship studies where they will be hosted by our local MP, Lee Odenwalder as well as our Reception students visiting Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary for Science.
The Year 1 students and accompanying staff enjoyed having all the animals at the Adelaide Zoo to ourselves after the public left on Wednesday and before they arrived on Thursday as we wandered around with Zoo staff. It was good to observe students grow in confidence with patting animals. Our Year 6 students also slept well at the Zoo Snooze!!
Congratulations to Mariam Gholam Sahi and Sara Wakili fromYear 4, Redha Rikaby from Year 5 and Abdulla Witwit and Zainab Al Ali from Year 6 who represented Playford College at the Independent Schools Poetry Competition last week. Thank you to Mr Hung for organising this opportunity and we are all very proud of you.
GUS ( Grow Up Smiling ) commences this week with some information sessions for students and free dental checks. Have you returned permission forms? Thank you Mrs Leckstrom for organising.
Thank you to all the parents who supported our Photograph Day last week by sending their children in the correct uniform. It was appreciated. If you have missed bringing in the forms or paying for your child(ren)’s photograph for Photo Day, the good news is, you still can! Academy Photography have confirmed that you can still give the forms to the front office or the teachers until Friday 14th September or call 1800816224 and order with them on the phone. If your child(ren) were present on the day then you are still able to place an order for their individual and group photo.
Parent/teacher interviews are scheduled for Wednesday September 26th and Thursday September 27th. A note will be sent home this week but please put these dates in your diary.
Thank you to parents of students who use the bus service for reminding their children that good behaviour is always expected. Children need to be respectful of drivers and allow them to keep everyone safe. We will follow up any bad behaviour at school.
Thank you to parents who use the Kiss and Drop after school and now leave using the closest driveway. This new procedure is so much safer.
There will be a student free day next week for Ashura Day. the day will be confirmed soon.
Have a top week.
